Which classes will use devices for learning?
Phase 1 students will use chromebooks as required at lesson time.
Your Board of Trustees provides a loan device for students, as needed, up to the end of Year 5. Parents are expected to provide a Chromebook for Years 6, 7 and 8.
A deposit of $50.00 will be required to secure the Chromebook usage and then subsequent payments thereafter to complete the device purchase.
Please contact the office at 528 3507 to ensure that you complete all the necessary paperwork to ensure that your child is ready.
Are there school fees to be paid?
No, but we ask each family for a minimal donation each term to cover the cost of the additional activities which we bring into the school to support our learning programme.
However, in years 7 and 8 to cover "tech" consumable costs for work undertaken at Tamaki College a fee is is expected to be paid by all participants. (see current information booklet).
Books and pencils, do you sell them?
A $20 stationery fee per student enables the school to supply all your child's stationery needs for the year.
Remember getting your child organised in this way is the first step to success for them!
Does the school have a tuck shop?
We do not run a tuck shop. School lunches are provided to all students (including halal, vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free). Fruit is also provided.
Students are NOT allowed to bring fizzy drinks, large packets of chips, chocolate or lollies. It is cheaper and more nutritious to provide a homemade snack for morning tea.
Where can I buy the school uniform?
The Glen Innes uniform is available from The Warehouse, Sylvia Park. All children are required to wear the Glen Innes uniform to school; this should demonstrate a personal pride in Glen Innes School within the community and in their learning journey.
As a parent, how do I make an appointment to speak with the Principal?
Please call the school office on 528 3507 and make an appointment, or turn up on the day and the principal will try and speak with you as soon as he is available. We pride ourselves on an "open-door" policy.
